Here’s some advice from our dog daycare in Sydney about what kind of dogs will enjoy staying with us.
Dog daycare is great for all dogs on paper, but in reality it’s not the right environment for all.
Let’s go over a few types of dogs that might not be a good fit for a group dog pack setting.
Anxious Dogs
If your dog is uncomfortable around other dogs already, dog daycare isn’t the right way to start socialising your dog.
You might need to move a little more carefully and let him meet one dog, make a friend and then see how he can handle more. A little anxiety is okay and often can be improved with regular daycare visits. But if your dog is really anxious around other dogs it’d probably do more harm than good.
Fearful Dogs
Much like an anxious dog, a dog that is afraid of other dogs is going to be too overwhelmed in a pack setting and could easily be pushed over their threshold. They need to be worked with on an individual basis with the right dogs to make sure we are helping and not making matters worse.
Dog Reactive or Aggressive Dog
Obviously if your dog is already snappy with other dogs, a dog daycare environment is not going to be the best place to work on it. Keep them home and find a local trainer to work with you and maybe you can improve the situation so you can eventually try it out.

Because we want to make sure everyone is having a great time, your dog will need to complete a behavioural assessment on their first visit.
The assessment takes about 20 minutes. During this time our trainers assess and monitor your dog’s behaviour alone and with the pack, with toys & treats. As a result we’ll get to know your dog as well as possible. Provided the assessment is passed, you are welcome to leave your pooch with us for the day or book in later.
Morning Walks & Supervised Playtime
Mornings in our dog daycare center start with a group walk to the nearby park. There the dogs can have a nice sniff around before heading back inside to play with others. All of our staff members are experienced dog walkers, handlers and trainers with experience in working with dogs. Therefore you can be sure nothing bad happens on our adventures outside. Easy walk harnesses ensure safety and comfort for everyone.
We pride ourselves to keep an eye on the dogs at all times and supervise all playtime at our dog daycare in Sydney.
In our dog daycare we provide mental stimulation through small training and play sessions throughout the day. Your dog will have unlimited access to toys and ball games with us on a daily basis.
